Larry was born the second
son of Evelyn & Lawrence
Davy, Sr in Whitmore Lake, MI
just outside Ann Arbor. After
several moves to TX and
back to MI at the age of 10
his family settled on a dairy
farm in Chandlersville, OH, a
farm area outside Zanesville,
OH. At the age of 16 the
family moved to Columbus,
OH where he completed high
school. He enlisted in the air
force becoming the rank of
Sargent as an Air Patrol
officer and serving some
time in Vietnam & remaining
in the service for 7 years.
Over the years he has
attended college focusing on
creative writing as he moved
around to CA; AZ (where he &
I met & married); NC; PA and
finally returning to Ohio
settling in this area in 1989.

Art was constantly on his
mind as he grew but young
boys during those years
(especially farm youth) were
not expected to be drawing
or writing poetry. So he
dreamed & finally as an adult
began to pursue different
media (pencil; charcoal;
watercolor; oil; acrylic; and
even written poetry) finally
feeling complete satisfaction
with wood. He has left his
work with people he met,
from Vietnam to every other
place he has resided.

Here at KNOT NORMAL Larry
surely expresses his love &
creativity with wood, creating
beautiful unique pieces that
are not found anywhere else
in the world.

I was born the last of 9
children in the small coal
mining town of Bulan, KY
just outside Hazard, KY. At
the age of 7 was moved to
London, KY where I attended
Sue Bennett Elementary,
London High & a year at Sue
Bennett College. While
moving around the country
living in numerous States I
did continue my educational
pursuit : Winchester, KY;
Stone Mountain, GA;
Fletcher, NC; and Prescott,
AZ where Larry and I met &
married. We then moved
together to NC, PA, and in
1989 finally settling in this
area. In the early 1990's I
attended The Ohio State
University working toward a
degree in Horticulture.

Throughout life I always
worked on some form of
craft project: sewing;
ceramics; needlepoint;
knitting; crochet; embroidery
wanting to learn them all. As
the years passed I began to
create original designs for
friends & family. Flower
gardening & design and
nature were constantly on
my mind no matter the
present project. With the
KNOT NORMAL business I
try to turn my craft
knowledge and love of
nature & plants into original
creations on wood and
unique items.
