| The healing stones we offer are all hung with leather strung with wooden, stone or shell beads and natural feathers from different fowl are added for interest. Value is based on the aesthetic uniqueness, not the size of the stone. The Healing Stones we offer are found in Brush Creek which borders the Serpent Mound Park. The stones have naturally occurring holes caused by water erosion, wave action, weather or even tiny water creatures. Known by many names, they are believed to open portals to the otherworld and are used in divination & healing. There is much information on the internet so if you are interested you can easily research further. There are numerous names for these stones other than healing & all refer to healing or protection powers: Odin Stones; Wish Stones; Nightmare Stones; Holey Stones; Mare Stones; Farey stones; Eye Stones; Goddess Stones; Thunder Stones; Lightening Stones & even Crick Stones where there is a belief of healing powers for a crick in the back. At Stone Hinge in England there is an extremely large one called "The Devil's Eye" where children were passed through the hole in sets of 3 to help in the cure of their ails & adults crawled through 9 times to help with their particular ailment. These stones are carried, placed in secret places for later use, hung on one's home, over a door or pet's house or on a barn and often worn as amulets. Indian warriors carried the stones for protection during battle. |
